Hey, hi, hello! My name is Jay Friday. Yes, Friday is my actual last name. I’m a Jawn from Philly (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), poet, singer/song-writer, plus size fashion enthusiast and stylist.

I started to choose my own clothing when I was 5 years old. Although my outfits were eclectic at times, I’ve developed my own personal style. I could sing before I could even read. I memorized lyrics and melodies. In 5th grade, I wrote my first original song. Even though my original music hasn’t been shared with the world yet, my poetry has. I wrote my first poem in 6th grade, and by high school, poetry became my main creative outlet.

I use poetry to tell stories, paint pictures, and heal. Healing is a journey. I share my lows, as well as my highs, to hopefully help and encourage other people with similar life experiences. Self-love is extremely important. Intertwining my love of music, poetry, and fashion to help others find their confidence, and even themselves, has been my greatest joy.
